Some taboos of the Achang

1. The brothers after marrying do not enter the bedroom of other. Does this taboo have relation with the still existing custom between any Tibetan tribes in whom the brothers share wife?

2. The first day of the year living beings must not kill themselves, since it is few auspicioso.

3. The woman cannot live in the apartment of above. If the men are in the lower apartment, she must not be in of above either.

4. The men must not happen where the women stretch his skirts.

5. The first seven days after the childbearing no man of another family can enter the house.

6. The woman cannot jump on the farming implements, since it would diminish his aptitude to cultivate the ground. That departs from the division of works established by Zhepama and Zhemima after the creation of the humanity, in which the man deals with the farming.

7. The woman cannot sit down astride on the house door, since it is considered to be few auspicioso.

8. The strangers cannot move the slats of the ancestors of a house. It is a logical matter since it is the most sacred place of the hearth. It represents the ancestors. Possibly heredity of a phallic symbol. Nothing would be more disrespectful.
