Anthology of the Chinese poetry. - Introduction, translation and notes of Juan Ignacio Preciado Idotea. Gredos. 2003 The intermittent appearance of anthologies of classic Chinese poetry in the Spanish bookstores demonstrates the interest that the Chinese poetry has always woken up in the Spanish reader. This translation of Chinese classic poems, carried out by Valued Idoeta, specialist in Taoism and in Tibetan studies, expires with the function to spread so rich poetical legacy in the Hispanic letters. The same translator, with the collaboration of the poetess Clara Janés, also has moved the Castilian the poetry of Wang Wei and Du Fu (both books in Editions of the East and Mediterranean, published respectively in the year 1999 and 2000). In addition to the value that supposes any translation for the knowledge of a literature, the most important of this type of anthologies of Chinese classic poetry it resides in the possibility of the Spanish reader of being able to read the work of poets not belonging to the dynasties Tang and Song, of whom we have already a big translations repertoire in our language (for not speaking about other western languages), although, for the literary quality of the poems that were written in that epoch, it is always necessary to check and to bear in mind. In this anthology there are gathered poems of more than hundred poets, from the anonymous ones of the Shijing (Outstanding figure of the Poetry) to the poets of the last dynasty, the Qing. In his set, a wide presentation of the Chinese classic poetry. |
