A feminine mythology between the Buyi

{Date}

It is curious to observe that some of the fundamental myths of the Buyi, like creation of world, creation of humanity, or deluge, they are not equal between all the Buyi. Separation can stem in the long run between a few groups and others, or to the inclusion inside this name "Buyi" of some different peoples. Many of the myths of the Buyi, arise from his desire to interpret the reality that surrounds them. They consider, taking as a model the man, who is what they know, which all the things in the nature have his life and his will. In fact, in one of his myths of the creation of the world, so much the sun, like the moon, the stars, the winds or the rain, a natural phenomenon and a woman are born for the sexual interaction between. A reflex of the form that they believe that they owe they generate the things in the nature.

One of the ceremonies that better reflects the religious spirit of the Buyi, is the call "of asking for descent" since it involves a series of ceremonies in those who venerate in whole 36 different deities, that a whole lasts of seven days and seven nights. Since it is logical one starts by venerating the Goddess Mother, who is the one that regulates the births, and it follows with the Goddess of the Forest of the Flowers, since according to his beliefs the children are like flowers and this is the goddess entrusted to distribute them to the human beings. To each of these goddesses a small piglet sacrifices itself. The gifts it will be diminishing in importance as it is done by the possible intervention of other deities in this matter, and this way someone will receive a hen, others a chicken, and others only one egg or a piece of meat.

Between many feminine deities with which the Buyi are provided, some of the most interesting are the calls Twelve Goddesses Mother. They have a role similar to that of the Guardian angel in Occident, since it is said that they are entrusted to protect the children until they fulfill 12 years. Up to this age, if a child falls ill, or he suffers some small misfortune, is thought that it is because these goddesses have not been venerated correctly. And Yaya calls himself one so that it realizes the opportune ceremonies. These goddesses mother distribute his work of geographical, and not chronological form. This way one Goddess is called a Mother of the Bed, another Goddess Mother of the Fields, another Goddess Mother of the Hills, or the Goddess Mother of the Rivers. It is supposed that each one protects the children in the territory that it governs.
