The history is not the history, but the history that they tell us. In spite of his objectivity pretensions, any history keeps on being a mythical history, a tool destined to provide a scenery in which to frame the individual, here and now. That is especially true in China where all the histories have been made up by a few very concrete interests, from the heroic scenes of the Book of History to this chronology of the Historical Records that, like the current ones, he considers to be the past like an intentional succession of facts destined only to create a glorious present.

In the middle of this somewhat deformed vision of the Chinese historical reality, the essays that compose the present volume provide, on the contrary, an intelligence slight sign in the multiple realities that finished with forming the country that we call China. In them the persons stop being some walk-ons strengthened in repeating four phrases that the posterity will impute to turn into persons of a time and space, which they operate moved by a few human, tremendously human motivations.

In this process of deconstruction of the history of China, one of the cultural complexes more carefully raised along milleniums, the important thing it is not only what these essays show us, but they provide a solid argument as to question the construction like everything.

To understand thanks to the essay of Anne Cheng the intimate relations between the virtue and the power during the formative period of the Chinese mentality in the years of the dynasty Zhou, to trace of the hand of Yuri Pines the essential unanimity in the political philosophers thought with seemingly contradictory ideas with regard to the need of a sovereign one that unifies everything under the sky and finishes with the wars, to discover thanks to the investigations of Roel Sterckx not only the essential role granted to the gifts in the sacrifices, but like these gifts, moving away from the psychological conditions to which they can contribute the drunkenness or the fasting, they suppose an element normalizador in the process of creation of a modern society, to verify in the reconstruction that Albert Galvany of an anecdote considers in the life of Sun Zi, the author of "The Art of the War", as this process normalizador spreads to the different aspects of the existence, between them the military practice, to assist in the article of Nicola de Cosmo to revealed of the real nature of the Wall China, image and archetype of this people, provides a depth load to us in the demolition of this archetypal history of China and a solid base for the attempts of constructing one more according to the facts. To know in detail each of these expositions turns to this work in essential for all the interested parties in China, his past and his present.

Taken in his set, these articles, as well as others that pay less attention, show us the transition from a dynasty Shang described succinctly in the introductory article of the teacher Ciruela, whose character chamánico impregnates him with an original conception of the art, the religion, the existence or the power, to other one in which all these relations between the persons, the ideas or the worlds, are content according to a few bosses that will finish with creating the uniformity of the modernity.
