The teacher Tamames is one of the heavyweights of the Spanish economic science. Of his hand some volumes have gone out on the economic history of this country that in only a few years have turned into outstanding figures. In the work that occupies us it approaches to China, country with which it supports for years a strange relation that reaches beyond the area purely professionally.

As he warns us himself on the first pages of the book, his relation with China is only superficial, and in fact, along the work, ésto it becomes clear in numerous occasions.

In the book, as its own name indicates, the author does a revision to the Chinese economic history, especially that of last two decades, since there begins the period of reform and opening on the outside, and with him, the amazing transformations that have shaken the country. During the phase in which it exhibits the transformations of these years, the plenty of the information can provide to the work a certain interest, only that for our taste, many of the same ones precede of Chinese official publications tending in general to confuse the real reality with the ideal reality that the politicians claim.

Nevertheless, where the work seems a little more slack to us it is in the expectations of future that the author proposes for the Asian country, in that we were waiting perhaps, a brilliant sketch of a renowned economist, and we remain with a series of possibilities that more or less already are in the mind of all those who continue with interest the news on this country.

Finally, one there works less than one writer major who does not stop having his interest in the big quantity of information that reaches port, although not always the reader is going to finish with supporting the same theories as the author.
