The single young people enjoyed sexual freedom, meeting in the "public house" where they were amusing themselves until the dawn, the illegitimate children were not discriminated.

Then if love was arising between them, the parents of the boy "were asking for the hand" of the girl. Other times the proper interested parties were already arranging it.

The family of the fiancé comes singing to gather the fiancée, and they return with she and his family. There is the second holiday and the third day the relatives of the fiancée return and the wedding is finished. Rarely there are divorces.

The girls were tattooing it facing setting off of 12-13 years, with black and blue ink. According to his legends this custom began with the arrival of the Tibetan ones and the Lisu, which wanted to kidnap his wives. With the tattoo they were hoping that they should not kidnap them for considering them to be ugly.

Until 1949 they were practising marriage between clans, by means of which several brothers of a clan were marrying several sisters of other, each one calls all those of another clan "wives" or "husbands", and sometimes there was a wives' certain exchange. Now stable monogamists are the majority.

Other aspects that reflect the familiar character of the marriage, it is the custom of that several sisters were marrying with the same husband, that the widows were transferring the brothers of the deceased husband, or the son it takes the concubine of the father as a woman.

What in the beginning was giving social harmony, degenerated with the chiefs looking more women in other clans that were finishing treated like slaves.
