Religion and gods of the Elunchun

The Elunchun produce cult to the nature, to the ancestors, to his animals tot�micos and practise the shamanism. All these religious experiences are of some form overlapped in the conscience of every person. Since one sees in his special worship for the bear, whom they cannot kill, since they consider him to be their own ancestor. If someone kills a bear it is necessary to realize a funeral complex to pacify his soul. We see a force of the nature, formerly considered animal tot�mico of a clan that there considers his ancestor, who finishes with representing the ancestors of the Elunchun, being summoned often in his ceremonies cham�nicas.

Some authors think that in ancient times the tiger and the wolf could be his animals tot�micos, in fact the name of none of these two wild animals can be mentioned, being called to the tiger "the old man" and to the wolf "wong" by his howl. It is possible that the taboo on his name should to the fear of which the word could summon them. That, on having listened to his name, the animal comes.

His principal gods are:

Deleigan - god of the sun, is one of his most important gods, since it provides light and heat, that's why in many images the sun shows. They venerate him especially the first day of the year. They ask him for help when they have difficulties. If there is an eclipse they think that a dog has eaten it. They make him a koutou and expel the dogs.

Bieya - goddess of the moon. It governs the world of the night and darkness. It pairs off to say to you of the day. It is venerated on the 15th and 25th of the first month. And on the 15th of the eighth month. If they take several days without hunting they pray to the moon putting a very clean salver. If in the morning there is animal hair the fact is that they will obtain fighter. The eclipses also attribute them to a dog that bites him, and expel them.

Aolun - Goddess of the Great Bear (the star). She is the goddess who governs the granaries. Considered the goddess of the longevity, venerates him when the year finishes, last day or the first one of the following one.

Akdenduli - god of the thunder. It takes in a hand a chisel and in other one a hammer.

Adingbor - god of the wind

Modur - God of the rain. The rain takes place because the dragon and the qilin take water to the sky. When it rains, they take a few canes and raise them towards the sky calling to the dragon.

Touburgan - God of the fire. The women venerate him, a roebuck is usually offered him. Whose meat eats up after the ceremony and his bone they throw themselves to the fire. They respect him a lot of, every year 23 of last month realizes the ceremony of sending him to the sky. In the New Year also respects appear before him. In his ceremonies one throws a piece of meat and a little of wine, and they are done to him koutous. The New Year's Day, the people who goes to house first venerate with a koutou the god of the fire. Before every meal it offers him to itself a little. It is a taboo to move him and to meet to him on a stick or a knife.

Bainaqia - god of the mountain. Peaks, abysses, caves or strange trees, there are the places where he lives. If he is not venerated on having happened over there, fighter will not be obtained. Those who travel to distant grounds produce cult to obtain good hunting.

The cult develops the ancestors like the clan like unit. It is a reflex of his belief that the soul does not die with the body. They are venerated in the holidays or on having returned of the hunting.

Wengguluborgan is the god of the illnesses, although then they think that every illness is caused by a concrete deity. He is represented doing in a role 4 or 8 persons.
Derigudarile - god of the pain.

Huludinghatar - god of the madness.
Goddess Eguta - god who produces the smallpox.
Goddess Niqilun - who produces the measles.
Goddess Egu - of fevers tifoideas and other feverish illnesses.
Aomaoximokou - god of the illnesses of the children.

Shaoluburgan - governs the reproduction of the horses.
Jinkaborgan and Kejunderborgan - gods of the illnesses of the horses.
Jiyasi and Aluhuotali, gods who govern the cattle.
Aoluborgan - the spirit of the fox, transformed into a devil who likes to hurt the people. Possibly be of Chinese origin.
Siwen - god of the shamans.
Aqiaoluborgan - spirit of the ancestors. It gives prosperity and descent to his clan. His image is recorded in pine wood and it is hung on sacred column.
Enduli - god of the sky, considered to be a creator of the humanity.
Julaqisi, god of the kitchen, represents him with a grasses bunch.

Tuolunmalu - Is the biggest god since it governs other gods, but his power is limited.
