The flowery Dai appear in Kunming

Pedro Ceinos Arcones, 2004

One of the most current debates in the world of the anthropology is the effect of the tourism on the minority populations.

Some authors think that the material benefits that the tourism provides compensate the cultural impact that the minorities suffer.

Others think that commercializing his culture, this stops being an internal element, to turn into a buy object, in goods.

Can the minorities design a tourist politics that allows them to enjoy his benefits without suffering his damages?

Are they going to allow the majorities that surround these peoples to design a politics destined for their own benefit?

While these matters are debated in the Chinese and foreign academic circles, a folkloric geupo of flowery Dai appeared by Kunming.

The center of the city at once was full of color. The citizens broke the Saturday monotony in the evening observing the strangers.

After a small photos meeting in the main street, they delighted the spectators with some of his most famous dances.

We all observe interested the movements of the young people in this unexpected stage.

When his dances finish and, exhausted, they rest a moment before returning to his village, some of us wonder if the effort has been worth it.
