Huangshan is a big mountain range placed in the province of Anhui. His name means in Chinese "yellow mountain", this is because, according to the tradition, the Yellow Emperor, mythical father of the Chinese people, was accustoming to move back to this mountain to practise his meditation exercises, going so far as to turn into an immortal one. It was in him that the emperor Xuanzong, of the dynasty Tang, named him. Since then it has attracted multitude of hermits, travelers, painters and poets.

Although the maximum Huangshan elevation scarcely exceeds 1800 meters, it is possible to affirm that it is one of the most beautiful mountains of China. His peaks cut of capricious form up to deep ravines, are usually surrounded with capricious clouds that give him a magic and mysterious aura. In the small splits where it was possible to have accumulated little ground and nutrients, some pines have been growing, they resemble delicate bonsais transplanted in the stony mountain, his survival is so special that are considered by the botanists like a differentiated species, the pine of Huangshan. Here and there it covers the water, sometimes sprouting of thermal springs, jumping between the capricious forms of Huangshan.

Huangshan is a living mountain. His scenery is always variable, the clouds seem to play as in a shades spectacle. What is seen now, disappears minutes later, with every step a new scenery appears, as in these elegant gardens of the nearby cities. In the mountain there are still some temples, they nor add him nor reduce splendor, there are an only one sample of the admiration that Huangshan has woken up between the Chinese along generations.

His extension is enormous, since it covers in the entire 1200 km2, what makes all the possibilities open. Numerous narrow ways, sometimes with steps, cross the Huangshan peaks allowing the visit. In the top there are some hotels, a little expensive, what is understood on having seen how all his provisions are raised to shoulders by the porters.
