Religion of the Lhoba

The Lobha believe that all the things have his spirit, his extract, which regulates his behavior. In his spiritual world there exist, therefore, hundreds of entities that intergesticulate of different forms with the human beings.

To grosso way they classify his divinities under three categories:

- The most important deity is a Tingla, which protects the persons.

- Then there is a series of medium gods, like Barenjing, that can hurt the people, but that if they are venerated stop being harmful.

- Those of low category are called wolu. Them there is that they provoke damage: illnesses, wounds, disasters..., but also it is possible to appease them with the due ceremonies.

A typical way of venerating his gods is to take the sheets of a fragrant tree, to smear them with oil and wine, and to burn them while they pray. A proper method of doing incense. The aptitude of the smoke, or the burned objects, to establish a contact with the world of the spirits a constant looks like so much in the East religions as in those of Occident. There are ceremonies that are realized privately, in others the whole village takes part.
