Spring holiday:
Coiuncide with the Chinese New Year. Thousands of persons meet to sing and dance in the mountainous regions.
Year New Miao:
There is celebrated one day rabbit, pig or ox of the eleventh lunar month. The celebration is rotating from one place to other. The principal activities are the contests of drums, the meetings of dance of the lusheng, the horse racings and the bulls struggle.
Holiday of Yamu.
On the 8th of the fourth lunar month. In the field of Guiyang. In the biggest local source the people meet to touch the flute and the lusheng in honor of the legendary hero Yamu.
Festival of the Ships Dragon.
In lunar May. According to his tradition a dragon was terrifying the people of a region. One day captured the son of a fisherman, and the father decided to recover his son, for what it fought nine days against the dragon killing him in the end. This is what is celebrated every year.

Holiday of Eating ox:

In all these holidays there happens the continuous presence of the music, the singing and the dances. The Miao use a series of musical instruments that are seen rarely out of his region.
The Lusheng is the most important instrument. A wind instrument done with six pipes of bamboo, with variable size, of 20 centimeters to several meters. During the Dance of the Lusheng, hundreds of persons touch the same song while the rest of the gathered ones, sometimes thousands of persons, dances to his rhythm.
Flutes, drums of bronze, harmonica, xiao (vertical flute of bamboo) and horn suona, accompany the continuous sound of the lusheng.
