In the classic China, the calligraphy, the painting and the poetry have been three arts that have continued parallel ways and have supported a narrow relation. There is no painting that does not contain the brief one (or not so brief) calligraphy. Generally a beautiful and brief poem that is supposed complements the message of the work. In every calligraphy the formal beauty gets together with the emotional content. An expressed unit of message of multiple forms that until a few years ago were remaining forbidden for the western reader, due to the technical difficulties that were preventing from preparing in Occident works that were combining these three branches of the Chinese art. The initiative of this book, with an esquisita esthetic conception and an elegant translation of half a hundred of poems of the poets most representative of China, is an only one sample of the possibilities of edition that present the new technologies to us.

Bai Juyi. - 111 quartets. Pretexts. 2003

Bai Juyi (772-846) is one of the principal poets of the disnatía Tang, the first one in acquiring in life an immense reputation in the whole world sinizado, particularly in Japan. Dai Wangshu (1905-1950) was the introductor in China of Federico García Lorca and of the Generation of 27, as well as to Rubén Darío, Blasco Ibáñez, Unamuno or Azorin. He formed in the French literature since he studied in the University that the Jesuits of this nationality had in Shanghai. It resided in France (1932-1934) and Spain (1934-1935).
It intervened in the literary polemics that were generated on up to where it would be necessary to integrate the western literature inside the tradition of his country. The Magazine founded Contemporaries, fundamental for the poetry China of the XXth century. Affiliated to the communist party from young man, it was imprisoned by the Japanese invaders (1941) and later by the nationalists.
Departing from the French symbolism, it opened a proper way, which did not forget the forms and topics of the Chinese traditional poetry, in a curious parallelism of innovation and force with what the Hispanic modernists did.

Du Fu is a giant of the Chinese letters, and one of the best poets of this golden century who was the dynasty Tang. In the present selection there have been chosen poems of diverse epochs of his creative life with the target to present of global form the poetry of this genius.

Chen Guojian - Poetry China Caligrafiada and illustrated. Tran, 2006

Along the evolution of the Chinese poetry, this one collaborates often with the painting and calligraphy and three arts form an inseparable artistic triad. This book contains 32 poems with calligraphies and illustrations and ten without them, all accompanied ones of the phonetic trascripción. A jewel edited thoroughly by Guojian Chen, teacher of Spanish for many years in different Chinese universities and big student of the poetry of his country, since there demonstrates his anthology of classic Poetry small stone published in Madrid by Chair in the year 2001".

The present anthology edited by Chen Guojian, a Chinese Hispanist who takes dedicating during the last 20 years to the translation of Chinese poetical works to Spanish, presents, as a careful study is habitual in the books of his collection "Universal letters" on the Chinese, sufficient poetry for itself to justify it to buy of this book. The interesting biographical notes that precede the poems of every author, might constitute for his part, a good portion of the "History of the Chinese poets."

In the history of China the name of a woman shines with proper light, Li Qingzhao considered the best poetess of the classic Chinese literature. Although in Spanish language we had already had the opportunity to read some of his poems selected in some general anthology of Chinese poetry, this translation realized by Pilar González España, the first one who presents a personal anthology of the authoress, it opens a way for the discovery of other essential Chinese poets in the knowledge of the universal literature.

In the last years there have been published in Spain diverse translations of Chinese classic poetry, especially of the Chinese poetry of the dynasty Tang. For example, of the book that occupies us, Poems of the river Wang, of Wang Wei, we have two translations in Spanish very next in the time of his publication: the first translation belonged to Juan Ignacio Preciado, with the collaboration of Clara Janés (Editions of the East and the Mediterranean, 1999), and this second of Pilar González España.

Wen Yiduo (1899-1946) was one of the Chinese poets most emphasized from the first half of the XXth century, being one of the bastions of the call "new poetry". He was a member of the literary Society of the New Moon and he claimed, together to other important poets of his epoch, like Hu Shi (1891-1962) and Xu Zhimo (1896-1931), the need to use the spoken language (baihua) as an expression way, the attainment of the form in the poem and the poem subject to the rules of the language and the prosody, the importance of the musicality of the strophe as final score of the process of the writing and the wealth of images and metaphors to express the feelings of the poet, as regards his intimate life and occurring of the nation. In sum, the poetry of Wen Yiduo takes part of this illusion for the modernity of the Chinese poets who wrote during the Movement of the New Culture. This book opens a way in the study of modern Chinese poetry in Spanish, of which scarcely we are provided with translations and research works.
